Ormond Beach Police Department is investigating a traffic fatality.

The Ormond Beach Police Department is investigating a traffic fatality that occurred on Friday, October 7, 2022, just before 1 p.m. at State Road 40 and North US Highway 1.

According to reports, the crash involved a westbound passenger vehicle and a passenger vehicle making a left turn from State Road 40 eastbound onto North US Highway 1 northbound. The driver making the turn, Charles William McLarnan of Ormond Beach, was taken to Halifax Hospital. Mr. McLarnan succumbed to his injuries on October 9, 2022, and his next of kin was notified.
