The City of Ormond Beach, and the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council, are excited to announce a significant step towards building a more resilient community. As part of the Resilient Florida grant received during the Fiscal Year 2022-2023, the city will host a comprehensive Vulnerability Analysis Community Workshop on June 28, 2023, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., in the Ormond Beach City Commission Conference Room 103 located at 22 South Beach Street, in Ormond Beach.
The Vulnerability Analysis Community Workshop will provide an overview of the Resilient Florida Grant Program while summarizing model results, reviewing best practices in building resilience, and discussing policy considerations. In addition, the workshop will facilitate an open forum for residents to express their preferences regarding resiliency policy considerations.
The Resilient Florida Program enhances our efforts to protect our inland waterways, coastlines, and shores, which serve as an invaluable natural defense against sea level rise. To effectively address the impacts of flooding and sea level rise that the state faces, eligible applicants may receive funding assistance to analyze and plan for vulnerabilities, implementing projects for adaptation and mitigation.
For those who can't attend the workshop in person, the virtual workshop is accessible at https://ormondbeach.zoom.us/j/81378997077?pwd=aVNNTHV4RzBZWWVaNXFEQmRXSXZzdz09.
