Dr. Durkin focuses his care on helping his patients make informed decisions about their own care plan. "I present options or avenues patients can travel down for care," said Durkin. "I give them information on treatments and consequences and let them decide." Dr. Durkin is certified in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine. He has a special interest in following literature on Alzheimer's disease and also likes new science. Dr. Durkin's biggest reward as a physician is when he sees treatments succeed. "I enjoy seeing a patient with a terminal disease get better and go on to lead a life of fulfillment." Dr. Durkin and his wife live in Ormond Beach. They have two adult sons and one adult daughter who live out of the area. Dr. Durkin has a broad range of pastimes and interests. He is into computers, rides a Honda Valkyarie motorcycle, likes reading mysteries and thrillers and also appreciates watching good movies.
