Fatal Shooting in Ormond Beach Currently Under Investigation.

According to a release from the Volusia County Sheriff's Office, detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early this morning in the Ormond Beach area.

Deputies responded shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday to 1869 Fairland Road, Ormond Beach, where the adult victim had a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach and later pronounced deceased.

The identifying details of the victim are not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.

The death investigation is active and ongoing, and the other party involved has been cooperating in interviews with detectives.
