Detectives are Searching for Daytona Beach Teen in Two Drive-by Shootings

Volusia County Sheriff Detectives are asking for help from the public in locating an 18-year-old Daytona Beach man, who has been connected to two recent drive-by shootings that have stemmed from a homicide in DeLand.

A warrant has been obtained for the arrest of Kamari Elliot for partaking in two shooting incidents, one this past week in DeLand that resulted in two victims with non-life-threatening injuries.

Elliot is considered armed and dangerous.

The other shooting that Elliot is reported to be involved with happened back in late September, near Spring Hill Park that resulted in two victims at separate residences, being shot and sustained non-life threatening. Witnesses of the incident reported seeing four to five males and shots being fired from a van.

Detectives have linked Elliott to both drive-by shootings.

“We think he and a group of people from Daytona Beach came over here on two separate occasions and we believe, opened up on innocent people,” Sheriff Mike Chitwood said. “All this we believe is connected to the murder. So, we’re trying to round up all the players.”

Elliott is wanted on two counts of principal to attempted first-degree murder with a firearm.

Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Kamari Elliott.

Elliot now has warrants out for his arrest on charges of attempted first-degree murder (2 counts), robbery, accessory after the fact to a first-degree felony, and battery.

“Turn yourself in now or wait for us to pay you a surprise visit, but you’re going to jail either way,” Sheriff Chitwood said Friday. “To anyone helping Kamari play hide and seek with us, now is a good time to come forward and put some money in your pocket instead of harboring a fugitive.”
