Become a climate-smart Floridian through a six-part series of programs from March 9 through April 2.

Volusia County residents can participate in a six-part series program sponsored by the Lyonia Environmental Center, Green Volusia, and the University of Florida/Volusia County Extension from March 9 to April 2 to learn about reducing environmental impacts.
The programs will touch on climate change and how it relates to water resources, green building, home energy, renewable energy, yards, food, water, transportation, and consumption, focusing on issues that impact Volusia County.
The series will be virtual from 6 to 8 p.m. on the following days:
- March 9: Florida climate change and Volusia resiliency efforts
- March 16: Water and yards
- March 23: Food and waste
- March 30: Transportation
There will also be in-person field trips from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the following days:
- March 26: Stetson Aquatic Center, 2636 Alhambra Ave., DeLand
- April 2: Longleaf Pine Preserve, 3736 E. New York Ave., DeLand
